13/09/13 - Experimental Line Drawing

Last Friday, our class focused on linear drawing and the many potentials outcomes. Small drawings were made such as closing our eyes and feeling our faces, attempting to draw from the touch of an object on our hands. The general idea was drawing from different human senses other than our eyes. I decided to experiment further at home, generating these ideas and multiple drawings.

This first double page of drawing was created in class, using continuous line and approximately 3 minutes to record each drawing. I was quite happy with this, although I'm not overly fond of the colour of the green felt.
These below were the works I continued on at home, I chose a coat hanger as my item as I felt this was an unusual object, with multiple angles, shapes and curves. Each drawing was approximately 1 to 3 minutes.

This by far was my most favourite, due to the composition and consideration of white space. I adore the left drawing, how the work is cropped from the page, also as the two drawings slightly overlapping each other reminded me of a three dimensional effect.
